'How will my family manage financially when I die?

By Kathy Lovati

Life insurance is a simple answer to a very difficult question:

"How will my family manage financially when I die?

It's a question no one wants to ask, but if you have people depending on you financially, it's one you have to ask.

Life insurance is one way to answer this question.

This brings up another concern: "What type of life insurance?"

There are many types of life insurance, but the bottom line is the same-it pays cash to your family when you die.

Life insurance benefits can be used for many things-to cover your mortgage, for daily living expenses, college tuition, your son or daughter's wedding, a gift to your favorite charity, and, of course, to pay for your final expenses. (Did you know the average funeral costs about $10,000?) And, most importantly, the death benefit proceeds of a life insurance policy are almost never subjected to federal income taxes.

Most Americans need life insurance. Did you know 81 percent of Americans say they need life insurance?
Many who already have it may need to update their coverage. Since you bought your life insurance, have you:

  • gotten married?
  • bought a house?
  • had children?
  • approached retirement?
  • inherited money?
  • lost a loved one?

If so, then you should call KSKJ Life agent to review your needs.

When a KSKJ agent comes to your house to review your policy, he/she will ask you a few questions to find out what your needs are. For example, "Do you have other insurance?" "Are you currently saving for retirement?" "Do you invest in CDs?" "Do you want your children to go to college or have a wedding?" After we find out what your needs are, we can help you find a way to solve your goals.

Just because an agent comes to your house does not mean he or she is going to try to sell you something.
The agent is there to help you and might actually find a way to save you money. Did you know that life insurance is one of the few things that have gone down in price?

If you have a policy that you purchased a long time ago and are still paying premiums, there's a good chance that you can get more insurance for the same amount of money or maybe quit paying premiums altogether.

KSKJ Life most likely has an agent in your area who can help you. If you don't have an agent, call the Home Office at 1-800-843-5755, ext 514, and we will connect you with an agent in your area.

Don't be the person of whom their loved ones said, "He was going to call but never did, and now we don't know how we are going to make it."
